Kemer Area Guide
Kemer is an upmarket seaside resort on Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast in the Antalya region, with charming cobbled streets and classy boutiques. Forming part of the Turkish Riviera, it has an exclusive marina and small beach. Kemer is fringed by the pine forests of the Olympos Beydağları National Park, where you can see cable cars in the distance toing and froing to the top of the Tahtalı Mountain. There is lots of antiquity to explore in the area, including the nearby Greco-Roman ruins of Phaselis plus the perpetual gas fires which shoot out of the ground in Yanartaş. Kemer is a great location for really any age group with lots of fun packed things to do.
Kemer Beaches Turkey
The beautiful seaside resort of Kemer is famous for its breathtaking landscapes and 4.2 km stretch of stunning beaches. There is a good choice of bays where you can spend a day at, including sandy and pebbled ones depending on which you prefer. And there are a number of Blue Flag beaches too, which means clear, quality water and powder fine sand. Many of Kemer’s beaches offer a variety of water sports activities, such as jet-biking, scuba diving, parasailing, snorkeling, and much more.
Moonlight Beach Park, Kemer
Right beside Kemer Marina you will find Moonlight Bay Beach Park. The beach is relatively small, mixing fine sand with pebbles near the shoreline, but there are lots of facilities including beach bars, cafes, a children’s play ground, changing rooms, clean toilets and showers. And plenty of sun beds with umbrellas offering fantastic views. The location is excellent and you can walk into the centre of Kemer from the beach in just 4 minutes!
Cirali Beach, Antalya
A couple of coves down from Kemer is Cirali Beach near to the famous Olmpos ruins. This is a long beach and a mix of sand and pebbles. Its clean and tidy too, no doubt because it’s a popular nesting area for turtles. Crystal clear waters that are fairly calm make it ideal for swimming, with plenty of sunbeds available and a few restaurants too. This is not a commercialized beach nor does it get ridiculously busy, so ideal if you are looking for somewhere to take in the sun, relax, and admire the views.
Adrasan Beach, Antalya
Located in the tranquil Adrasan Bay, this is a lovely natural beach in scenic surroundings and without hordes of tourists. Fringing Adrasan beach are a few bungalows and pensions plus some chilled out bars and lounges with wonderful sea vistas. Stopping here for the day or afternoon is perfect if you are looking to get away from it and just relax. Shopping in Kemer Turkey
Kemer is a small sized, upmarket town and its easy to navigate the main shopping streets. There are lots and lots of shops including a number of boutiques and fashion outlets, plus a couple of supermarkets for stocking up on essentials. Kemer town is spotlessly clean too and there are some excellent sidewalk cafes where you can drop after your shop.
Kemer Market
Kemer market days are Monday and Tuesdays and both sell different items.
The Monday Kemer market can be found next to the Viking Hotel and sells everything in the way of food, from fresh fish and vegetables to spices, sweets and locally made Turkish delight.
Kemer’s Tuesday market is near to the Marina and Moonlight Beach. Here they specialize in apparel with t-shirts, jackets, trousers, shoes and so on featuring a variety of brands. There are also quite few stalls selling local crafts and souvenirs too – ideal if you’re looking for something special to give to family and friends back home.
Both Kemer markets are a great experience and well worth doing, with a buzzing atmosphere of sights, sounds and smells! And feel free to barter the price if you see something you like – the vendors enjoy this and would be surprised if you didn’t!
Kemer Shopping Centre
Located in the town centre, Kemer Shopping Centre is not a shopping mall with hundreds of shops a food court and entertainment centre, but rather a single level building with a handful of outlets. Catering to the tourist trade here you will find an assortment of leather goods, local handicrafts and Turkish sweets. Nightlife in Kemer Turkey
Kemer is a vibrant resort with a variety of funky bars, neon lit clubs and good choice of restaurants; all with different themes and offering live shows including music. You can wander down to the sea and enjoy one of the atmospheric beachside bars or have a few relaxing drinks by the harbor side as the sun sets across the cove. Club Inferno and Club Aura, Kemer
This is one of Kemer’s premier clubs with lots of bars inside and a very spacious dance floor. Club Inferno puts on live shows with dancers and different themes – like foam parties for example. Tables can be reserved, which is probably a good idea, as it does get busy.
Qualista Lounge, Kemer
With a romantic location by the harbour this is a lovely setting to enjoy lunch or perhaps dinner outside as the sun sets and the moon and stars start to appear.
Leon Bar and Restaurant, Kemer

Kemer, Turkey Attractions
The sun-drenched Mediterranean resort of Kemer has everything you need to enjoy yourself, with the splendid Taurus Mountain and pine tree forests serving as its backdrop, plus a 46km coastline of secret coves and beaches and modern marina. Then there’s the nearby antiquity for history and culture junkies, or follow the trails through the stunning scenery for some outdoors activity.
Nomad Theme Park, Kemer
This local attraction is just a short walk from the marina and Moonlight Beach, located in a slightly elevated position on a headland, which separates the beach from the marina. The Nomad theme park will give you an insight into the local history and lives of the people who lived there in past times, with tents and mannequins recreating how Turkish nomads used to live. An on-site restaurant serves up authentic Turkish food too. Its worth visiting just for its view out across Kemer and the bay
Phaselis
Situated just 13 km from Kemer, Phaselis was an ancient Greek city later taken over by the Romans on the Lycia Coast, located between the Bey Mountains and the forests of Olympos National Park.
The ruins are magnificent – including an aquaduct – and it is easy to imagine how this once thriving Lycian port city must have been, with merchants loading up ships with rose wood oils, perfumes and timber sourced from the nearby forest. Walking along the impressive and wide Habour Way will take you past the ruins of a Roman Baths and theater too, where mid-way up you can see a wonderful mountain view, no doubt a welcome distraction to a Roman audience if the play was a particularly poor one!
Tahtalı Mountain Cable Car Trip
The trip up the mountain gives you fabulous views of the pine forests and green scenery below, then as you get higher up the 2370 metre mountain a panaromic view starts to appear, of the spectacular surrounding turquoise coastline of southern Turkey. Central Kemer
Central Kemer is attractive to those who like to be part of the town with easy access to the shops, restaurants, cafes and beach. Here, 2 bed apartments start at just Euro70,000 and normally have excellent on-site facilities including landscaped grounds plus a swimming pool.
Camyuva, Kemer
Located just 6.8km from Kemer, Camyuva is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea at its eastside, the Tahtali Mountain at its west side and the Ancient city Phaselis plus the district Tekirova at its south side. The area is home to around 10,000 residents and is popular due to the lovely views of the mountain and pine forests plus the excellent quality of its air. Camyuva also has a beautiful beach too. Beycik, Kemer
Just 22 km from Kemer is the mountain village of Beycik. Situated in the Olympos National Park at an altitude of 450 m to 1,000 m, with a population of under 450. Beycik offers residents privacy and seclusion amidst some really stunning scenery with pine-scented air! There’s lots to do too from hiking through the forest or taking, a jeep safari, to skiing at the newly built ski resort on Tahtali Mountain.
